J. Bard McLean, Inc dates back to 1927 when John Lester McLean worked for Barco Mfg. Company. Barco was known for their steam heat connectors and speed recording systems. 

In 1965, after 38 years of employment with Barco, John Lester started his own company with his son, J. Bard McLean. The company, known as J. Lester & Son, served as manufacturer's reps for a number of supply companies in the US. 

After the passing of John Lester, J. Bard purchased the company, renamed and incorporated it, and took over as President of J. Bard McLean, Inc in 1971. 

J. Derek McLean, Bard's son, joined the company in 1984 in the sales department. Like his father, he would continue to grow the company and purchased the company in 1997.

JBM, Inc is currently based in the Philadelphia area. The company operates throughout the entire US and covers both locomotive and freight car components. 

JBM, Inc believes in providing quality products and excellent service to its' customers, in addition to being dedicated, hardworking representatives of their principle companies.
